Try this new take on meat and potatoes! Couscous blended with Sargento® Shredded 4 State Cheddar® Cheese is a creamy companion to succulent pork chops.
Ingredients
1 cup uncooked couscous
3/4 cup water
1 cup (4 oz.) Sargento® Shredded 4 State Cheddar® Cheese
5 thick pork chops
1 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. oregano
1 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
2 tsp. olive oil
5 toothpicks
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F.Prepare couscous according to package directions. Stir in cheese; season to taste with salt and pepper.
Slice each chop from the side in the middle half way through to create a pocket. in small bowl, combine paprika, salt, oregano, pepper, garlic and onion; season the chops both inside and out.
Spoon couscous into the chops. Sprinkle olive oil over each chop. Close each chop with a toothpick. Place on lightly greased baking pan. Cook, uncovered, 30 minutes.
